History
Lisa Robinson and Patrick (P.J.)
Hamill IV are modern day incarnations of four generations of
transportation service providers. Carrying on the legacy of their great,
great grandfather, this sister/brother combo operate the largest full
service auto and truck repair facility in downtown St. Louis.
P.J. Hamill Transfer Inc. was founded
in 1883 and specialized in the transfer of goods by horse drawn carriage.
Their shop was a fixture on Chouteau Avenue for some 87 years.
Pat Hamill III joined the family trade
and began repairing tractor trailers in a Quonset hut out behind the
building. In 1970, he moved his operation to a location on Cole Street,
dubbing it Marham Equipment. Eventually, the operation expanded to include
another building directly behind the facility on Cole, to provide body
shop paint booth services for tractor-trailers.
Then, in 1984 Lisa and P.J. joined
their Dad at Marham, representing the fourth generation of Hamills to
enter the field. Wanting to expand into the realm of automotive service,
St. Louis Auto & Truck Repair was incorporated in 1986, and moved to
their current location at 1422 Delmar in 1991.
Now with state of the art computerized
equipment, this "dynamic duo" is prepared to provide you
service, as demanded by today's advanced automotive technology. Coupled
